An Apple a Day

Golden elevator doors slide open to a crimson red hallway as Agent Apple steps out and tucks his shades into the breast pocket of his suit. Behind him was Agent Orange, a taller white male in a black suit with an orange tie.

“Call me if you have trouble,” Agent Orange says as the elevator doors begin to close.

Apple nods his head and walks away, his eyes laser focused straight ahead on the end of the hallway. A tall golden door guarded by a muscular man in a business suit is his only obstacle so far. The agent reaches into his pants pocket pulling out a pair of black leather gloves and puts them on as he approaches the guard. “Good evening, sir,” he says.

The man cracks his neck as he peers down at Agent Apple. “Mr. Nolan isn’t accepting any visitors today,” he says. The guard slides his suit jacket to the side revealing a handgun tucked away in its holster.

“Oh, that’s pretty. Too bad that I plan on seeing him anyways,” says Agent Apple. He punches the man in the throat causing him to hunch over grabbing his neck. A rising knee to the head knocks him out as the agent gently lays him down. He drags the guard inside and shuts the door behind him. He then grabs a cushion from a nearby couch and places it under the guard’s head.

“What the hell is going on here?” Mr. Nolan asks as the agent is straightening the bodies of the guards.

“I always feel bad about how I leave people when I’m working so I try to at least make them a little comfortable,” he says.

Agent Apple was always careful with his victims. Despite having the genius for killing and being the top field agent in the D.I.E. Apple was always against taking the lives of others and always completed his missions without hurting anyone too badly.

“How considerate of you,” says Mr. Nolan as he scans the living room for a weapon to use. A katana hanging on a nearby wall in between them catches his eye.

“I wouldn’t do that,” says Agent Apple.

Mr. Nolan ignores the request as he reaches for the katana. Unsheathing the blade, he swings it at Agent Apple wildly.

The agent avoids each swing with fluidity, moving with the motion of the sword until he barely dodges an attack causing his tie to be cut in half. He grabs the severed piece of tie and chucks it in Mr. Nolan’s face blocking his view. Apple kicks him in the chest and snatches his katana as he falls back.

Nolan smacks the back of his head on the hard wooden floor and lets out a loud yelp. The agent yanks him up and slams him up against the wall.

“You know what I was sent here to get. Where is it?” The agent asks.

Nolan points to the bedroom at the end of a hallway.

Agent Apple chops him the neck and gently sets him up against the wall before heading over and kicking the bedroom door open.
